Sully is a lovable goofball who craves attention and cuddles. At 3 years old, Sully has developed special needs beyond his family's capacity to care for him. His perfect forever home will have doting parents who are able to provide a comfortable life for him.
Sully was adopted from a local rescue organization at 3 months old in July 2021. At about 1.5 yrs old, he developed a sideways gait and started having accidents outside the litter box. Multiple vet visits determined he was born with a spinal deformity, starting from the base of his skull.
Today Sully is almost completely incontinent and has lost most mobility in his hind legs (scoots/drags to get around). He needs to be in an enclosure at night to prevent accidents and monitored/diapered during the day. He also requires daily grooming or bathing as he is unable to clean himself properly.
Despite his physical disability, he is a very happy and friendly cat. His silly demeanor will keep a smile on your face daily. He loves sleeping the day away in his cat tower, but will vocally demand his meals (or dramatically launch himself off if you take too long).
Every once in a while, he manages a lopsided sprint across the house for breakfast, hitting every obstacle in his way. He definitely won't be climbing your counters, but may catch you off guard when he flings himself onto the couch for snuggle time. He loves face scratchies and arm stretchies- he will thank you with deep purr purrs. But more than anything, he loves cheese.
Sully lived with two other cats- he's a slow burn but comes around in time (needs extra time to trust they won't hurt him). He hasn't met children, but has always been a people-cat first and would adapt.
Sully is a spunky, strong-willed guy ready to start a new life with a loving family. Will you welcome Sully into yours?

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

SPOT adopts puppies less than 1 year- $450, dogs 1-8 yr- $300, 9 yr- $200.
We ask you to complete an adoption application. A home check will be scheduled to be sure there are no inadvertent dangers in your home or yard. A meet and greet will be arranged so that your whole family can meet your new pet before adopting him/her. We want to make sure it is a good fit since it is a commitment for the animal’s lifetime.

Go meet their pets

All of the SPOT pets are in foster homes. To meet an animal, please fill out an adoption application by visiting our website at https://spotsavespets.org/ and clicking on "Applications". Someone will get in touch with you as soon as possible. We can also tell you when the next adoption event at a local pet store will be held, or we can set up a time to meet with you.

More about this rescue

SPOT was created to fill the need to save animals who “fall through the cracks” in our sheltering system. Local shelters are overwhelmed—they receive so many strays and owner turn-ins that they run out of space and have to kill thousands of animals each year. The majority of these animals are healthy and simply need to be placed into a home. Others are medical cases which require some work, but do not have life-threatening diseases or injuries. And a few have some moderate behavior issues; we work with specialists to correct these behaviors before finding them their forever home. The bottom line is SPOT can save these lives.
