Meet Jagger! This friendly terrier blend is about a year old and weighs 30 pounds. Jagger was dumped and left to fend for himself, but now it's time for him to "rock and roll" in his new life!
- General Behavior: Jagger is described by his foster family as a sweet, very active and playful guy. He truly has the “moves like Jagger”. Just like "The Rolling Stones", this Jagger wants to be a part of the band!
- Likes & Dislikes: Jagger LOVES to play, especially with other dogs. He also enjoys a good walk, although he is still trying to learn how a leash works. He loves to romp around in the water at the lakeside to cool off but doesn’t seem to want to go for a full swim. He is learning to play fetch and is a big fan of toys and bones. He is not a big fan of new noises and will bark, but quickly settle, when hearing them.
- Training: Jagger has been a total rockstar with his housetraining when let out on a regular schedule. He has good basic manners and is learning how to walk better on a leash. In his foster home, he stays in a secure area of the house when home alone and is able to do so for several hours without issues. He does whine a bit when his humans leave the house but chills out quickly. He likes to “relocate” items around the house, but rarely chews them. Speaking of chewing, he is a great eater and not picky at all. With focused training, Jagger should get just about anything down you want him to learn.
- Medical: Jagger is healthy and will only require his monthly heartworm and flea preventative.
- Other Animals: Jagger loves other dogs of any size. The more playful, the better! In fact, he gets super pumped playing tug-of-war with his current “foster brother” who is a Great Pyrenees mix. Because of his energy and young age (and to prevent boredom), a home with another playful pup is required. He is not sure about cats yet and his feelings towards them are hit or miss. For that reason, a home without cats is probably best.
- Children: Jagger has done great with children of all ages.
- Home: For Jagger’s safety, he would be best suited in a home with a fenced yard. He loves to chase lizards, birds or anything that moves quickly away from him. Remember, he is still learning all about his new life. After a day of play, this guy will crash in his dog bed, but would love sleeping in the “big human bed” where he can get great snuggles.
- Grooming: Jagger is a short-haired blend so will not require any elaborate grooming other than his regular bath and nail trims.
- Overall: Jagger would be a great addition to your home if you are looking for an all-around great pup. Want to take him out and about? He’s already been to farmers markets and town events where he gets lots of people gawking over how cute he is. Jagger is still a “puppy at heart” and would relish in a home filled with a patient human willing to teach him the ropes, as well as another dog to play and spend his time with.
