This girl is 26 pounds of energy and love. She had to be captured by the local animal control officer and was prettified. She was lunging and growling and very upset. But something in her eye just pleaded for me to help her. So I picked her up from the shelter and brought her home where George (our cat) helped me show her that humans and other animals are good. George helped her calm down and let her guard down and after about an hour she was giving me lots of kisses. She is hilarious and is definitely a lover. She may need a couple of minutes to feel safe, but once she does, she is glued to you. She is extremely smart, loves to go for rides, walks and hikes or any adventure (we went kayaking) She prefers not to be left alone as she does have some separation anxiety. To adopt a pet from FFRR you must be at least 21 and submit an adoption application We contact references listed on your application. If you rent or live with another person, we must speak to your landlord or roomate to confirm that you have permission to have the pet you are applying for. We may also need to conduct a home visit to make sure the accommodations for the pet you are interested in are suitable. We do not allow any adopted pets to live on chains or any other tethering devices. Once approved you must complete a contract and pay the adoption fee. The majority of the pets are in TN and we only list them in the northern states at the transport meeting locations due to the low volume of dogs in the northern states

Funny Farm Rescue Ranch is a non-profit, 501c3, all volunteer agency chartered by the State of TN. We take in pets that are unwanted, abandoned, abused, neglected, homeless or otherwise in need. We are not a shelter and do not have a shelter in NJ or any other northern state. Each of our pets is in a home with a volunteer foster parent and only leaves the foster home in TN to go to their "forever" home once they are fully vetted. Our goal is to reduce the pet overpopulation problem through spay/neuter, adoption and education.
