My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This kitty's adoption fee is 50% off! Thank you to Kia and Petfinder for the grant that made this possible!

Available: now!

Date of Birth: September 2023

Mushu was taken in by a local shelter, who had to remove his front leg, so he is a tripod. He is also FeLV+ (positive for feline leukemia). This means that he might have a shorter life span than most kitties (average 2.5 years); at some point he may get sick and we will have to say goodbye. He will have to be an only cat (dogs are fine). He will need a healthy diet and regular vet care.

For now, this boy is happy, healthy, handsome and sweet! He is an extremely affectionate lap cat! For however long we have him here on Earth, he deserves to be loved and cared for. He is looking for someone with a big heart to give him this chance. We are looking for an adopter, a short-term foster, a long-term foster or even a forever foster for Mushu.

Kitty's adoption fee covers spay or neuter, rabies vaccine, age-appropriate distemper vaccines, FeLV/FIV test, flea treatment, microchip & registration and dewormer.

You'll want to make sure you have all the basic supplies before you bring a baby home: nutrious food, bowls (not plastic), litter, litter pan, litter scoop, toys, scratchers & cat trees, nail clippers and a cat carrier.

*Fully vetted includes spay/neuter, rabies vaccine, microchip & registration, age-appropriate distemper vaccines, de-wormer, flea & tick treatment, and FIV/FeLV test.
It’s true, there is no such thing as a free pet. But adoption should be affordable for everyone!
Did you know cats do better in pairs? Young kittens learn important social skills through play and interaction with other kitties. They also keep each-other company so they won’t get lonely while you’re at work!

More about this rescue

Bella Vita Animal Rescue Inc is a 501c3 non-profit. All of our funding comes from donations and our own personal wallets. Your donation is tax-deductible and will make a huge difference in the life of a homeless animal.
We are a small group of volunteers who do this in our spare time because of our love for the furry things in life. Specializing in cats, the pets in our adoption program live in foster homes; we do not have a facility. We are based in Statesville, North Carolina, but service all of Iredell County.
