My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Buffy and Willow are a bonded pair of Dachshund mixes currently about nine months old. These sisters are going to give you the puppy experience to the fullest extent! They're playful, loud, sassy, and a ton of energy. If possible, we'd like to keep these two together at all costs. With bonded pairs, there tends to be distress when separated that can lead to depression and high levels of stress. As a shelter environment is stressful enough as is, we'd like to do right by them the best we can by keeping them side by side wherever they go. At this time, we're only going to be accepting applications for both of them.

These two do show some hesitation with strangers at first, eager to protect one another. They'll give you some barks that sound real tough, but there's no bite behind it. In fact, this is their usual response to anything they don't recognize. Other dogs, cats, people, even the snow blower we still have out (just in case!). Some treats and toys will coax them out of their shell and before long, they'll give into their puppy desires to be wild and crazy. Without a doubt, they're a lot of fun to be around and will provide endless entertainment.

At the moment, we'd like to avoid placing them with cats as they didn't prove to do too well with them in a prior home. Dogs they've been selective with, so we'd like to ensure any dogs in the home come for a meet and greet before we send them along. Children should be no issue, though we're asking they at least be over 5 due to a lack of background with them. If you're interested, Buffy and Willow will come spayed, microchipped, with their Rabies and distemper vaccines, a heartworm test, and their heartworm preventative & flea/tick for the month. Please fill out an application on our site, ForeverPaws.com, before booking an appointment. If you're already approved with us, however, feel free to give us a call and set up an appointment to meet these girls today! As they will be meeting multiple families as the applications come in, please don't expect to walk out with them same day. We operate off of best fit for our animals vs. first come first served. Thank you for understanding!
