My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Elegant and timeless, Miss Pearl is looking for a new home to be admired in.

Pearl is a laid back cat, who likes to indulge in sunshine, chin scratches, and good company. She loves to be pet and groomed, kneading along with you and purring in delight. Pearl has previously spoiled herself with extra snacks, but is coming into a new realization that she would like to be a happy and healthy feline. For this, she is looking for her new journey to include a home as well as a diet.

She's still learning some stellar workout moves, but is going strong with her laser pointer training. Pearl isn't the most active cat (yet), but likes to engage in play, which helps her get some exercise in. After all that fun, Pearl is ready to bask in your presence and have a relaxing evening. She may not be the biggest fan of being picked up, but that doesn't stop her from sitting on your lap when the opportunity is there.

Pearl feels her best when she doesn't have to share her space with other animals, and would like to enter a home as the only pet.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
