Meet Gwen! She’s a gorgeous 10 year old girl who’s had a bit of a rough life thus far, but now she’s looking for a special human to love and cherish her!
She spent her younger years outside as a colony cat, and when she finally came into our rescue she had stomatitis and needed dental surgery…well, THREE surgeries! The first was for her right side to extract all teeth, the second was for her left side, and the third was to remove more bone in a spot that wasn’t healing properly. She is now toothless - but SOOOO much more comfortable! She still enjoys her dry food along with wet food morning and evenings.
From here on out, she deserves to live her life in a home where she can be center of attention! She’s a total lap cat who is willing to give lots of snuggles, but she also enjoys a nice cat tree where she can watch the birds and squirrels. She has recently started playing with toys - spring toys and the jingly cat wand have been favorites so far! Her foster mom loves how you can pick her up and sway back and forth with her like a baby; in return, she’ll give you all the head nudges!
She would do best in a home with no pets, as she doesn’t like other cats and she hasn’t been around dogs. She does great with adults and kids (ages 5 & 8) though! Gwen will be a medical adoption, so the rescue will cover any follow-up expenses related to her dental issues.

We have an adoption application to learn a bit about the home our cats will be going to and the family's motivation for adoption and expectations about pet ownership. We also have an adoption contract, which includes a no declawing and indoor-only clause along with a vet promissory note that ensures you will continue with the medical care and spay/neuter if needed.
We DO NOT do any out of state adoptions except on the NC border on a case-by-case basis.
We require a donation of $120 for adoption of unaltered kittens with a PTV Contract. All kittens receive vaccine series and wormings as well as medical treatment as needed. The adopter is responsible for obtaining their rabies vaccine and spay/neuter if the kitten is not of age at the time of adoption. We can provide resources for low cost clinics that offer these services.
We ask a donation of $25 to adopt Career/barn cats.
We require a donation of at least $140 for adoption of Spayed/neutered cat.
Bonded pairs adoption donation is $200.

We are advocates for advancing legal and social acceptance of TNR in Hampton Roads. Our unique feral kitten socialization program has a 90% success rate in socializing feral-born kittens to become loving, in-home pets.
