My name is August!

I adopted August from the Sevier County Humane Society in Tennessee last July as a puppy. The shelter had him listed as a Labrador Mix and told me that he was 5 months old - he was actually much younger than that and not a Lab at all. He has a huge personality! He’s almost a year old (May 6th). He’s very stubborn, playful, and loves to snuggle! He’s an absolute love bug with his people. However, he has a lot of behavioral issues that will require an experienced owner. He resource guards my partner, myself, our home and our other dog. He’s aggressive toward unknown dogs and very wary of perceived “threats” (sometimes just other people, regardless of if they have a dog or not). His stubbornness is endearing but even positive reinforcement sometimes doesn’t get through to him, as he wants to do what he wants exactly how he wants to do it, regardless of the reward or the consequence. I feel as if he would excel with someone who has the time and experience to properly train him.
