INTRODUCING CRUMPET - DOB est 1/24/22, female, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped…

Crumpet had been hanging around outside an area school (where she was likely dumped), obviously pregnant and desperate for help. She was trapped and brought into foster at the end of January, and after a timid beginning she warmed up and decided that the indoor life was pretty darn nice. She gave birth to five kittens on February 5th, and has been a wonderful mother to them. Now that her kittens are mostly raised, it's time for her to find her forever home where she can be the baby herself.
Crumpet is a little bit of a scaredy cat and can be timid at first. We assume that she's been through a lot in her young life, and it takes her a little while to learn to trust, but she's such a love bug that her need for attention allows her to get past her fear. She loves to be petted - we can not stress this enough, LOVES to be petted! - and will let you pet her for a good long time as she walks back and forth and rubs against you. She has a very sweet purr that she turns on as soon as you start petting her. She will flop down against your leg or near you - she hasn't been a lap cat yet in her foster room, but that very well might change as she grows more comfortable (and doesn't have a passel of kittens to worry about.) She loves to curl up in a basket, on a soft bed, or even in the middle of the floor and just hang out. She's learning to be playful as her kittens get older - she likes to bunny-kick stuffed toys, really likes catnip, and has a favorite toy in the form of a catnip-filled green bean (and yes, that will go home with her, along with a couple of extras.) She has not been around other adult cats in her foster home, but with a slow introduction, she should do fine with other cats. She also has not been around dogs, but would likely be fine with nice dogs.

More about this rescue

Forgotten Felines, Inc. is a 501-(3)(c) non-profit charitable organization. Our primary purpose is to manage the feral cat population in our area by trapping, neutering/spaying and re-releasing (TNR) cats back into their original territories. We also work to provide safe temporary homes for cats that are homeless, unwanted, abandoned or lost. Some of our animals have been rescued from dangerous conditions and cannot be released back to their original territory...these animals are housed in foster homes until permanent loving homes can be found. The majority of these animals are friendly abandoned pets, that are not feral, and we offer these loving and grateful animals for adoption here on Petfinder and also at Petsmart in Jones Valley, Huntsville, AL. We also provide help to people who are elderly, disable, financially challenged and those who love their animals but cannot provide them with the necessary care.

Our Mission...

(1) Control feral cat populations through neutering/spaying
(2) Educate the public about about proper pet care and responsibility, especially neutering/spaying and advising about pet behavior and medical issues that often result in families giving up their pets
(3) Humanely remove and relocate ferals when possible
(4) Adopt out loving, grateful animals into permanent forever homes
(5) Raise necessary funds to build a shelter for rescued cats
