Amira is an absolute angel of a cat -- once you meet her, you'll never want to let her go! She's absolutely gorgeous with her tortoiseshell fur pattern and distinctive facial markings. But her best asset is her affectionate nature. Amira loves being petted and held, and she'll roll over for belly rubs at a moment's notice...We promise she'll be your best friend as soon as you meet her.
Amira had a rough start. A year ago, she showed up with a colony in Crown Heights. Her caretakers fed and sheltered her as best they could, but Amira was constantly exposed to the elements -- hungry and always looking for love. The neighbors loved her but couldn't bring her inside. Luckily, they finally contacted us and we went over the same day. We found her under a car, soaked from the rainstorm that day. Amira literally jumped into our rescuer's arms and went home with her, showing her gratitude through head butts and purring so much, she was drooling. We named her after the woman who cared for her for a whole year.
Amira is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, has tested FeLV negative and FIV positive. An FIV kitty requires NO special care or attention; it's really more of a stigma. FIV+ cats can absolutely live with FIV- cats, sharing food and water bowls, as well as litter boxes. Please read more about FIV at www.petmd.com or ask your vet.
