My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ahem, excuse me, but if you're in the market for a feline companion, let me introduce myself—Ronon, at your service. Now, let's get down to business.
So, picture this: you stroll into the local feline establishment, hoping to find the purrfect companion. And there I am, sitting in my cozy little corner, contemplating life and all its intricacies. Yeah, that's me, the one and only Ronon.
Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not one to be all flashy and in your face. No sir, I'm a Tabby cat of refined tastes, a connoisseur of the finer things in life... like peace and quiet. So, when it comes to my review, let's just say this place isn't exactly a five-star resort.
Firstly, let's address the ambiance—or lack thereof. The surroundings are decent enough, I suppose. But let's be honest, it's no sprawling mansion with sun-soaked windowsills and a plethora of comfy cushions.
And then there's the staff. Now, I'll admit, they mean well. But they're just a tad too... enthusiastic for my liking. I mean, I appreciate the effort, but a little space goes a long way, you know? A quick hello is fine, but constant hovering? No thank you.
But here's the kicker—despite my initial reservations, I do warm up. Once you crack through that tough exterior, you'll find a loyal companion who's up to date on vaccinations and has been neutered (because let's face it, the world doesn't need any more Ronons running around).
So, if you're looking for a cat who's a bit shy at first but blossoms into a loving friend, then I might just be the one for you. But if you're expecting fireworks and fanfare from the get-go, you might want to look elsewhere. It's just not my style.

Additional adoption info

We require an in-person application for all dogs and cats. A home visit will be required for larger dogs, who require a fenced in yard. Our animals are only adopted out after they have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Our adoption fees are $80 for cats and $110+ for dogs. Puppies are $130. Cash, check, credit or debit card are all accepted. Sometimes the fee will be higher for a dog, if it is a purebred. We would like to keep our adoptions local; in the event the adoption does not work out, the animal must come back to us. Adopters must sign an agreement to this effect. We do consider out of state adopters, please phone us before coming. We are a private shelter run mostly by volunteers. Please be patient if we take a little time to respond. Volunteers check emails and respond to phone calls.

Those adopting a cat must bring a carrier to transport the cat home safely.
