My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Note: This is a courtesy post only. Schnauzer Rescue of the Mid-Atlantic will not be placing Bonnie & Clyde. They are located in Connecticut. Please contact foster mother Barbara at sculptaire@snet.net (Kent CT) for more information.

Here is Bonnie, her brother Clyde is a handsome silver and gray boy, but he is waiting for his beard and brows to grow back after an over zealous grooming! These 11 year old littermates lost their home when their owner went into a nursing home. They have been in a shelter in NW Connecticut (www.littleguild.org ) for four months, and so sad and confused about the turn their life has taken. Then about a month ago there was an accident, which we assume was an attack under the gate by a big dog in a neighboring kennel, leaving Clyde with a severely broken leg. It has been repaired surgically, but it may be awhile for the healing bone to allow for the pins to be removed. Still, he uses the leg and is always up for lively walks! He is on no medication for anything. Bonnie was discovered to have a thyroid imbalance (an easy, inexpensive daily med) that has corrected the problem, and she does have an enlarged heart, which requires a daily pill of Enalapril and Salix (the shelter would be willing to purchase these if an adopter needed that help). Bonnie is a delightful little girl who knows how to use her eyes to melt anyone who sees her! They are both entirely reliable in the house and great car passengers. They love as many short walks as you'd want to take with them. They show no reaction to cats, so would probably be okay with them, and they are currently in a temporary foster home with five other dogs that they ignore if the dogs aren't too rambunctious with them. They are deeply bonded and must not be separated at this point in their lives. Please contact foster mother Barbara at sculptaire@snet.net (Kent CT) for more information.
