My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Toby, Toby, he’s our man! If he can’t do it, no one can! Toby is a 2 year old, male, Jack Russell Terrier and man is he fun! Toby is curious, playful, and he loves to snuggle. It’s true, Jacks are known for their energy and while Toby does turn it on, he has an off switch and is capable of calming down. His ideal home would be adult only (or older kids). He’s a little shy and doesn’t really like new people too much so a busy home with strangers coming and going won’t be ideal for him. Toby is great with dogs of all sizes and he loves riding in the car with his foster family. Toby is approx 12 lbs and has the most adorable nubbin tail.

Toby is in foster in Erie, Colorado.

*We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. *

Mile High Canine Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)3, Colorado non-profit organization established in 2019. We are 100% volunteer run and foster home based. MHCR aims to provide abandoned, neglected, and abused dogs a loving home to grow and learn in until a suitable forever home is found. While in foster care, our dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm tested/treated, microchipped, and vaccinated. We rescue dogs from Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.
