My story

My name is Darla and I am a very deep thinking, calm, sweet, lap dog that is looking for the perfect laidback home. I am a Dachshund/Terrier mix that is only 20 pounds and guessed to be 6 years old. I have lived with a lot of dogs in a home that was not able to care for us properly. We were fortunately surrendered to Critter Cavalry Rescue so that we could all find better and more stable families to love us. I am a tad shy when I first meet new people but I sure do blossom and get more perky when I feel safe with you. I am pretty good on a leash and I am housebroken and crate trained. My foster mom says I have the sweetest face and eyes that look in to your soul. Well you know what? I am searching for the right soul to make me their own and them to be MINE too! I am the perfect size for so many lifestyles. I don’t bark and I ride perfectly fine in a car. Let’s go places this Summer! I am ready are you!? Most all our dogs are fostered in Tennessee and transport up to the Northeast or New England. Our fees start at $500 and can be higher depending on the dog and circumstances for their vetting. All fees cover the health certificate, transportation up to designated places for families to pick up their pre-adopted dog, spay/neuter, rabies, all shots, fecal and dewormings, microchip, complete vet check up and 4 way heartworm test if dogs are older than 8 months.

We are a full volunteer rescue organization. All of our animals are kept in loving foster homes, receiving the best care possible. A completed application must be submitted and approved to meet with our dogs/pups. A completed application helps us determine compatibility and also helps us to ensure a successful adoption.
