My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there, I'm Garfield. I've been told I'm quite the charmer, with a personality as sweet as honey. I'm a friendly soul, always eager to greet anyone who comes my way. Loyalty is my middle name, and I promise to stick by your side, no matter what. I've got brains too, you know. I'm pretty good at figuring things out and I love a good challenge. But don't let my smarts fool you, I'm also a big softie. Cuddling is my favorite pastime, especially on those quiet, mellow days. I'm looking for a forever home where I can share my love and loyalty. If you're in need of a sweet, smart, and loyal companion, I might just be the one for you.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
