My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi!  I’m Misty.  I was spayed earlier this week, which was, honestly, a crappy experience.  BUT the good news is that I can begin looking for my forever home because now I’m fully vetted.  Having lived the past few weeks in a foster home, this is what they have learned about me so far:
New environments frighten me.  Realizing that I’m in a safe place takes me a few days.
I’m friendly but like to give new people a chance to prove themselves trustworthy before I feel truly comfortable with them.
I’m a smart albeit cautious gal.  I have learned that crinkly paper means that there is a great opportunity for a snack.
I sit for treats and am highly food motivated.  If you’ve been wishing for a dinner companion, your search is over.  I’ll be with you every bite of the way.
My foster dad thinks I’m really cute when I cock my head to the side when trying to determine what in the world he is trying to say.
I know precisely what to do when I have the opportunity to go outside and am learning how to let people know when I need to go.
I really need another well-behaved canine sibling.  I take cues from my foster friends, and they have helped me immensely to feel comfortable in my foster home.  If you have been looking for a companion to entertain your current dog, I would probably be a great choice.
I’m not a frilly girl.  While I hate rain, I do love a good mud puddle.  I play hard and thoroughly enjoy roughhousing with larger dogs.  I would probably enjoy small dogs too, but there aren’t any around here.
While I don’t mind sleeping with people, I can also sleep all night in my own bed.
There is so much more to learn about me.  If interested, please fill out an application.  I hope to see you soon.
