Small, sweet Emma will melt your heart with her beautiful hazel eyes!
One-year-old Emma was abandoned in Mexico, and lived on scraps for several months. Emma’s foster home has slowly taught her that people can be trusted. She is a gentle and loving puppy, and needs a family that will be patient and gentle while she learns they are safe. After a couple of weeks, Emma will show her trust by cuddling up on the couch and burrowing under your blankets at bedtime!
Emma already is house-trained. Once she knows your home is safe, she can be left alone during the day without a fuss. (Chew toys help!) If Emma has backyard access, she even will play ball by herself to burn off excess energy.
Emma’s favorite cue is “let’s go for a walk” - her little legs will rush right over if you say it! She loves to explore the smells of her world, and will sometimes greet polite, dog-savvy people and dogs. Although she’s a little girl, Emma needs a home that will exercise her brain with games and training, and her body with lots of outdoor access.
Emma gets along well with other dogs, and respects cats that she knows. We feel she would be much happier if she lives with other dogs ... She loves playing with the toddler in her foster family and could live with dog-savvy children.
