My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please contact Melissa A Aten (melissaa@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.sweetie sniffing ISO his humans!

COOPER NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name: Cooper       Best Guess for Breed: Beagle mix

Best Guess for Age:  3 years as of April 2024        SEX:  Male

 {

Approximate Weight:   30 lbs

Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen him with kids or cats but he can be tested.

Currently Living at:   South Carolina shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get his freedom ride up here.

Cooper is Looking For:  His family! This sweetie ended up in the shelter due to no fault of his own and he's eager to once again have his own humans for long sniffy walks (with that beagle nose!), romps out in Nature, and all the smelly adventures they can dream up. Quality kibble and a cushy dog bed are on his wish list as well, a little below 'smelling all the smells.'

But you know what's right at the top? Knowing he's safe and loved and under his own roof for all his days. He's got quite a bit to offer in exchange - all the adoring gazes and love he's stockpiling in his little body, and loyal companionship. What do you say? Is Cooper the one for your home and your heart?

What My Foster Says About Me:   We will update this once he has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with his foster

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The adoption process begins when you submit an adoption application either online or at an adoption event. The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers. That individual will come to your home to ensure that it is a safe environment, to confirm that everyone in the home is on board with adopting a dog, and to discuss any other questions you may have about dog adoption!

Our adoption events are held each weekend. A schedule of times and locations can be found at www.luckydoganimalrescue.org.
