PONGO NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name:   Pongo         Best Guess for Breed:   Shepherd and cattle dog

Best Guess for Age:   2 years as of April 2024       SEX:   Male

Approximate Weight:  45 lbs

Gets Along With:    Other dogs! We haven't seen him with kids or cats but he can be tested

Currently Living at:   South Carolina shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here

Check out these videos of Pongo:   https://youtu.be/PdOZja1on4A and https://youtube.com/shorts/WfnogYcjeME.

Pongo is Looking For:   Pongo is looking for his home - more about that in a minute. What WE would love (in addition to a wonderful forever home for him, natch) is to know is what his actual breeds are. Those amazing radar dishes on his head, that coloring, the density of the coat, that body structure - they all look like they belong to different breeds!

Pongo is every bit as awesome as his breed mix is. He is in his prime and has places to go, people and pups to meet! He's looking for humans who are up for all those adventures - sniffy walks, romps in the park, trips to the beach and the mountains. (He's also heard about pup cups and said he'll try them if you twist his paw.) Most of all, though, he wants to once again be a well loved dog under his own roof.

What do you say? Is Pongo the one you can see trotting by your side?

What My Foster Says About Me:   We will update this once he has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with his foster

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The adoption process begins when you submit an adoption application either online or at an adoption event. The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers. That individual will come to your home to ensure that it is a safe environment, to confirm that everyone in the home is on board with adopting a dog, and to discuss any other questions you may have about dog adoption!

Go meet their pets

Our adoption events are held each weekend. A schedule of times and locations can be found at www.luckydoganimalrescue.org.
