Nutmeg came to us as a little puppy who was supposed to be a Chocolate Lab. Turns out, the guy we got her from was not honest. We THINK she is a Herman Shorthaired Pointer, but we have no papers, or course, and someone recently told me they think she is a Vizsla. The pictures seem to look like she might be.
She was my son's dog, and when he left for college he left her with me, but when he came back, he decided he was not a dog person, and has two cats now. I can't keep up with her, and my wife has developed an allergy.
Nutmeg is sweet, and very affectionate, but she has too much energy for me. She does not like to be confined, and when we had visitors in the house and we shut her up in a room, she tore the door frame apart to get out to be with us. She would do great as an inside/outside dog, but she needs a strong fence. Our fence will not hold her as it is old, and easy to get under.
I really do not want to have to give her up, but I am not able to keep her.
