My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pretty little Glenda was found by a police officer wandering by herself and was taken to the city animal shelter. Glenda can run on all four legs with no sign of pain but x-rays revealed she has an old break that did not heal properly and cannot be repaired. As a result, she has an odd gait but it does not slow her down. Glenda loves other dogs and running in the yard. She is working on housebreaking and uses a doggy door. Within minutes of arrival at her foster home, the little smarty immediately followed the other dogs through the dog door.

More about this rescue

Helping Dobermans Find New Homes Since 1994

For 20+ years, Doberman Rescue of North Texas has been placing purebred unwanted or abandoned Doberman Pinschers in loving homes. Most of the Dobermans we rescue come from shelters in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Each dog is checked by a vet, given all shots, tested for heartworms, spayed or neutered, treated for any illnesses or medical problems that are found, and micro-chipped. Without exception, all dogs are spayed or neutered. The dogs come to live at Doberhof, our Doberman-only private shelter in Grand Prairie. Doberhof accommodates up to 22 dogs in 11 air-conditioned and heated runs with comfortable beds and classical music. We have outdoor play yards where they exercise, sunbathe, chase squirrels and rabbits, and do other important doggy activities. We have limited additional capacity for dogs in sick bay and foster homes. When a suitable adopter makes the right choice, each dog is adopted to what we hope is a forever home. Puppies thru mature are normally available.
