My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Pirate! His past was not great as a badly neglected roof dog in Mexico. A kind neighbour once took him to the vet to have his eye removed when it became badly infected but his life on the roof, exposed to the elements with little food or water, did not improve. Eventually, Pirate was removed from the home by authorities and he was taken to a shelter where he was likely to be euthanized. He was a favourite of shelter volunteers since there wasn't a human he did not LOVE. Lucky for Pirate, he was pulled by Pye Dog Rescue and brought to Canada. Pirate LOVES people so much he can barely contain himself. He is happy and exuberant and will jump on people because he does not know any better. We think it is best that he not go to a home with small children but would be fine with older and respectful kids. He is dog selective but may do well in a home with another calm, submissive dog. He integrated well with several other dogs at a rescue while waiting to come to Canada. We think Pirata will be an amazing companion and he would thrive in a quieter setting with a big fenced yard where he can run around and be silly. He does seem to have a prey drive so a home with no cats or small animals would be ideal. Are you ready to be his forever home?
