Take the Pet Home
This helps Polk County Humane Society with pet care costs.
Hello there, I'm Sweat Pea! I'm young, I'm playful, and I'm ready for my forever home. Now, how did I end up here, you ask? Well, let's just say I had a bit of a 'moo-ving' experience. I was living on a farm, and one day, I thought it would be fun to herd the cows. Turns out, cows don't like being herded by a dog. Who knew? I also tried to play tag with the chickens, but they weren't too keen on the idea either. So, here I am, ready for a new adventure! I promise I'm a lot of fun, and I'll make your life interesting. No more dull moments with me around! Adopt me, and let's make some fun memories together!
If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to request an appointment to meet me. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. No need to call to find out about me, you can ask questions on the application or email questions to info@polkcountyhumanesociety.org.
Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and Minneapolis, MN areas twice a month. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual and we will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veteinarian ($35). Going that last mile home for our sweet pets!
