It's not every day that a Dalmatian ends up in rescue, but we feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to help this sweet boy! Barley is a one year old male Dalmatian who will be ready to go home very soon. He is a little chunky and could afford to lose a few pounds, but he's otherwise very healthy. Barley has unfortunately experienced very little in his life, and as a result, he is a nervous boy. He'd had little to no socialization with people or other dogs, he'd never been in a car, on a leash, or to a vet. Everything is new to Barley, but he has made us so proud with the progress he's already started to make. He has typical young Dalmatian energy and is very playful once he is comfortable.
The ideal adopter for our beautiful Barley boy is an active and patient person or family who will continue to work with him on socialization but also give him the exercise and mental stimulation that he needs. He takes a bit to warm up to new people, but once he realizes you are safe he will become your shadow. He has so much love to give and we are so proud of him. He really is just such a good boy.
Barley is here with us at Camp L4P in Sarasota, Florida and his adoption fee is $450. He will be neutered this week and will be ready to go home following that. If you would like to add this sweet boy to your family, please complete an adoption application at the link below or email us at info@love4pawsfl.org if you've previously submitted an application.

We are a non-breed specific dog rescue group, although we do tend to take in mostly large and extra-large breeds, and especially those in the hunting / sporting groups.
Love for Paws exists to protect and advocate for dogs in our community through responsible adoption, the donation of supplies and veterinary care to those in need, by assisting in the effort to limit the overpopulation of these animals and by promoting kindness and healthy opportunity for life.
