My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dove tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home.

A volunteer writes: Whenever I see this big fluffy guy, I just want to cuddle him, but Dove isn't so sure about the Care Center. I think he wishes he had a more go with the flow personality because he's just so sweet and really wants to be a good boy. But our Dove likes things low key, so when I last visited with him and he was looking irresistibly cute, all stretched out on his side with his feet up on the condo wall, I knew to start with the sniffs and then move on to neck scritches and treats. He sat so adorably and graciously leaned his cheek into my hand for pets. We know the shelter isn't ideal for such a gentle kitty, but here he is trying to make the best of it. In his last home, Dove lived with other cats. He was brought to us because his person could no longer take care of him and he's looking for a fresh start. Come and give this very sweet guy a chance!
