WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals’ lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care. Depending which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a donation from each adopter. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.

Home Recommendation: Sir Lucas, our delightful French Bulldog, is as unique as he is charming. Despite being deaf, Lucas is a quick learner and is currently mastering sign language for commands. He thrives in an environment where his training is continued with patience and love. Lucas is a social butterfly, adoring both dogs and cats alike, and he eagerly welcomes interactions with people of all ages.
Personality: Lucas's zest for life is contagious. He delights in car rides, leisurely walks, and indulgent naps. Tug-of-war is his favorite game, and he's always up for a round. Affectionate and sociable, Lucas showers everyone he meets with love and is overjoyed by belly rubs and ear scratches. After a burst of energy-filled zoomies, he happily settles down for a cozy nap, ready to recharge for his next adventure.

Dogs: Yes! He would love to have a doggy sibling in his home!
Cats: Yes!
Crate Trained: He will bark for 10 minutes but then settles down and does well
House Trained: Yes!
Training: He is very treat motivated and already knows sit, wait, and responds well to no/stop. Lucas pulls out of excitement at first on the leash but once he calms down after a few minutes he then does well.
Why did he come to WISE? Lucas was abandoned at a shelter by his owners. WISE could not leave him there and quickly saved him!
