My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

HAVE YOU EVER FELT A DEEP CONNECTION WITH SOMEONE? WHATEVER BOOMER’S AND BONZO’S SOULS ARE MADE OF, THEY ARE THE SAME.

Boomer and Bonzo share this beautiful bond together. They are bonded for life! It is beyond beautiful to witness the friendship and love they have for each other. They equally score a perfect 10 in the sweetness category. Their calm, gentle, sweet, affectionate nature makes it so easy to fall in love with them. They are chillaxing fellows who appreciate your kindness, and truly enjoy your company. These boys are very handsome! They are distinguished, silver foxes who will zap your heart quicker than the speed of lightening. Boomer and Bonzo are easygoing, and love to be loved. And we all love their warm chocolate eyes that magnetically connect to your heart. They are about 8 years young, but age is just a number. They won’t be climbing mountains, but their hearts are so full of love. Boomer and Bonzo will surely add to your happiness with their sweetness for the rest of their life. Their perfect home would be a quieter home where they can enjoy hanging by your side, snuggling with their head on your lap, watching your favorite shows together, and feeling blessed that you chose them to be part of your family. They are truly amazing boys!

Boomer’s and Bonzo’s backstory:

Boomer and Bonzo have been together their entire life. They are bonded and must be adopted together. They had the same home their entire life—8 years! When their owner passed away, no one in their family could take them. How sad! They deserve a family that will love them and dote on them for the rest of their lives. You have the power to be reason Boomer and Bonzo will love again and heal their broken hearts! Please don’t think twice about their age status, we all know age is just a number. Most of all, we know if you meet them, they’ll end up with your last name. They are wonderful pups, and you will have double the love!

More about this rescue

Welcome to LaMancha Animal Rescue located in Unionville, Pennsylvania. We are a privately funded 501c3 charity that was originally formed as an alternative to the slaughterhouse for ex-racehorses.

Many of these horses are perfectly sound, but simply too slow to continue racing. Some are injured, but can be healed to make suitable trail riding mounts, show horses, and three-day events.

Today LaMancha rescues and finds homes for not only horses but also dogs, cats, goats and the occasional exotic animal that requires more space or specialized knowledge than most SPCAs can offer.

LaMancha is a "no-kill" rescue. We currently have available for adoption many animals that are looking for a good home. Contact us to see if we have that special animal that you are looking for

LaMancha is the only federally recognized Karelian Bear Dog rescue.

Karelian Bear Dogs were originally bred in Russia and Finland to hunt bear. When Russia invaded Finland during World War II, many people killed their Karelian Bear Dogs so they would not be taken. They are considered a national treasure in Finland. They have been imported into this country recently, primarily to assist in eradicating nuisance bears from state and national parks.

Karelians are extremely intelligent, and very loyal. They make excellent companions and family dogs in the right environment. They must, however, have enough to keep them busy, and enough room to run. They are not a good choice for small yards or confined environments.
