My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

ZENOBIA hails from Summer Beaver in Manitoba and came south with her sister (OLYMPIAS) to find their new family. She’s had her first set of puppy vaccines, a microchip and been deemed a healthy girl by the vet. We’re not sure if she’s a full Husky or the weight she’ll grow to be, we are getting her mum into the rescue within the next week though, so will then have more of an idea of her what her weight could be.

ZENOBIA has lots of that Husky energy! She already loves to go on long walks and can keep up with the other dog in her foster home. She’s super loving and so smart as she already sits for her meals and takes her treats “gentle.” She sleeps soundly in her crate at night and has been waking up around 6:30am. She does fuss when she first goes in but soon settles down. she loves to chew on rubber toys, have snuggles and curl up in a cozy dog bed.
ZENOBIA is looking for a very active family who will take her on walks, hikes and lots of adventures. Her adoptive parents must have Husky experience and realize the energy they will have to put into making sure her exercise needs are met. A fenced yard is a must and children should be aged 6 and up and be caring, loving and gentle to animals. She hasn’t met a cat but if a cat is dog savvy and they have a slow introduction then all should be good.
Puppies are fun and cute but also require a lot of patience and dedication to training. We need her adopter to be in agreement to sign her up for obedience/puppy training in order to adopt her.
Her spay is included in her adoption fee and will be performed at 6 months of age and we also need her adopter to be in agreement with this as per our rescue agreement and in order to adopt her.
If you would like to meet ZENOBIAS then please complete the adoption application to to do so.

Additional adoption info

Dogs: $750 (as of March 2024)
Cats: $250
The adoption process involves a brief application for the pet you are interested in. We will review your application and if you appear to be a good match for the pet, we will contact you for a phone interview. If that is successful we then do a vet reference check. If all goes well we will then set up a meet and greet for you and anyone else living in the home including any resident dogs with the pet. We then ask you to go home and contemplate your decision on adopting the pet and let us know your decision within 24hrs of meeting the pet. If applicable we will then move forward with the adoption at a mutually agreed upon time.

Go meet their pets

We only set up meet and greets with our animals once an adoption application has been submitted. We do occasionally have meet and greets with our animals at Global Pet Foods in the Barrie area.

You can check out the available pets on our rescuegroups website or on our rescue Facebook page.

More about this rescue

We’re a small rescue with a big mission to save animals in our Northern communities, local Pounds and owner surrenders (under certain circumstances.) We’re located in Barrie, Ontario and we serve the area of Simcoe County and within a two hour radius of the Barrie area.
Our intakes are placed in loving foster homes until they’re assessed, vetted including vaccines, microchip and a spay/neuter (if over 6 months of age) before they leave the rescue to be adopted. Female puppies are spayed at 6 months of age and males 8 months of age.)
We’re always looking for additional foster homes as we can only do intakes if we have foster homes for them to go into.
