My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Fiona has her shades and is ready to spend the first of many summers with you! You must love giving belly rubs and appreciate a dog that looks like a small cow from a distance. This girl wiggles and wags with absolute joy at the first site of people and it only intensifies when she knows those people are going to pet her or tell her how pretty she is. She genuinely lights up and it is an invitation for a love sesh!

In rescue breed and age are offered as educated observation because we can never know a dogs history but we believe Fiona is a pit bull terrier/ boxer mix of some sort and is est. to be 4 years old. The comments about her looking like a small cow are not because of her size, just her gorgeous markings, this healthy girl weighs a perfect 57 lbs and is full-grown.

Let me tell you a bit more about her because I was giddy over her. Besides being loving and adoring, Fiona is attentive to calls and commands. The attentiveness is most obvious when she sits at your feet literally waiting for your command. Treats only peak that attention, which will make training basic skills a breeze. Basically, a hand full of treats and a bit of time and you two can start impressing all your guests with your tricks.

Fiona would love to find a home where she could be your one and only. Her desire to have a connection with a person showed itself as soon as we met her and it looks good on her. She is friendly and loving to everyone she meets but she connected with one of staff in a way that gave us a glimpse into the obedient and adoring dog she will be to her forever person. We have no way of knowing Fiona’s history but we all get the impression that she has loved and been loved before. Being in the warm glow of the one that loves her is what she is looking for. Thanks to her age, energy level, and size Fiona could live the condo/apartment life. She is quiet and low-energy but will still benefit from daily walks and mental stimulation. If you have a home with a yard she will absolutely use it for sun bathing, mid-day naps, and watching the clouds go by.

As for other pets, Fiona doesn’t need another dog to be happy, just her people. We introduced her to a handful of dogs and she simply co-existed with them. No playful connections were made and we would say that is just her personality. When she met our house cat Tom she was a little too interested, she would likely try to give a cat a good chase, so no feline friends for Fiona.

A calm and simple girl with sooooo much love to give! Giggles and wiggles guaranteed! Adopt Fiona today and you’ll quickly know what it feels like to be absolutely adored!

If you have any questions about Fiona or would like us to test her for a specific setting or detail, please be in touch! We can make most anything happen to ensure she is the correct fit for you and your life!

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!

Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks:

• 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.)
• A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week)
• One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan
• 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan
• Coupons for a fun visit to Petco
• Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!

We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
