My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Goji, the charming canine companion with a heart as big as her playful spirit. Goji is a true people-lover, her affectionate nature evident in every tail wag and butt wiggle.

From the moment you meet her, Goji's warm brown eyes and wagging tail will capture your heart. She thrives on human companionship and adores nothing more than snuggling up for cuddles on the couch or receiving belly rubs while lying on her dog bed. Goji’s love for people is boundless, and she forms deep bonds with those lucky enough to earn her trust.

But Goji's love for adventure doesn't end there. She's a lover of the great outdoors, she finds it hard to contain her excitement as she eagerly awaits her daily walks. Goji is always ready to explore new sights and smells, making every outing an unforgettable adventure. After a good walk she is content to lay on her dog bed and chew on a bone.

But Goji isn't just all about cuddles and adventures - she's also a playful spirit with a mischievous streak. She loves nothing more than romping around the backyard with her favorite toys or engaging in a game of fetch. And beware of leaving clothes lying around - Goji has a penchant for stealing socks and shirts, turning them into her own personal treasures.

Despite her playful nature Goji can be a bit timid around large dogs. Her past experience where she was injured by a large dog (it fractured her leg) has left her feeling anxious in their presence, causing her to become fearful. Last year she bit a large dog on the lip. She had gone on a leashed walk with the dog and had been fine. At the end of the walk while the adults were talking, the large dog was in Goji’s face. The large dog’s owner stated Goji did warn her dog to back off, but unfortunately, he didn’t, and she bit him on the lip.

Goji needs an owner that understands her fear of large dogs and will not put her in a situation where she feels the need to defend herself. While she is quite content to go on leash walks where large dogs are present, she does not care for off leash large dogs, or large dogs in her face. Therefore, she would not enjoy off leash dog parks. Goji does well with dogs her size and smaller with proper introductions. Goji isn’t fond of cats.

So, if you're searching for a furry friend who will shower you with love, accompany you on endless walks, and fill your days with laughter and joy, look no further than Goji. With her affectionate nature, playful spirit, and unwavering loyalty, she's ready to embark on the greatest adventure of all - finding her forever home with a family who will cherish her for the wonderful dog that she is.

Goji is 5 years old, weighs 54lbs, is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.

More about this rescue

We are a registered 501(c)(3) non- profit, charitable organization. Our mission is to rescue dogs from overcrowded and high kill shelters, and place them in loving homes. We also strive to educate the public on responsible pet ownership, and the importance of spay/neuter, so that one day there will no longer be adoptable dogs, euthanized by the thousands in our shelters. We are an all volunteer organization. 100% of donations go directly to the care of the dogs.
