Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Click here for our adoption application.

Our main goal is to match each one of our animals with a loving forever family. Please fill out our adoption questionnaire completely so we know we are making an excellent match!

We ask for personal references, a current vet reference, and landlord information for approval. Don't worry though - we like to keep our adoption process fun and casual. We know how exciting this experience is!

Adoption fees vary based on species and gender. Long-term or featured pets may even have reduced adoption fees!

More about this shelter

The Lenawee Humane Society (LHS) is a private, non-profit, tax exempt organization, dedicated to caring for unwanted animals and providing them with necessary medical treatment, food and shelter until we can find them a new home. Founded in 1921, the Lenawee Humane Society is incorporated by the State of Michigan but receives no government support. The Lenawee Humane Society is supported solely by donations and membership dues. As a Society, we believe that all life should be revered and that all living creatures should be treated with kindness and respect.
