My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Location: Watsontown, PA.

Cali is a wild and crazy youngster(approximately 1 year old), learning to be her best self.  She would do well as an only dog or with a patient, mature and energetic mate.  She is quiet and calm in her crate and learning her manners while free of the crate as she is learning things for the first time.  Her first task was to learn her name.

Potty training is still a work in progress as she can easily be distracted from her task.  She has learned to sit to go out the door and crate and is quick to sit for treats.  She is a talker…will woo woo you with her opinions.

She is enjoying play in the big yard…either entertaining herself or playing with my one year old pup.  Keep away and tug are favorite games.  She enjoys being loved on though not really a snuggler yet.  Cats of varying temperament have done a good job teaching her the feline way.

She has accompanied us on hikes in the state game lands and even played in Spring Creek.  She can swim but plays mostly creek side.

More about this rescue

We are an all volunteer group that rescues Australian Cattle Dogs. Our dogs reside in foster homes until they are adopted
Every year, thousands of Australian Cattle Dogs find themselves homeless through no fault of their own. Although the reasons are diverse, the result is the same. Healthy, adoptable dogs face euthanasia in shelters.

The Australian Cattle Dog Rescue Association rescues ACDs in shelters from Maine to Georgia and gives these dogs a fresh start with a loving family. Our foster home volunteers welcome the dogs into their homes where they live as members of the family. During the time in foster care, our volunteers determine what kind of forever home will be the right one for each dog.
