My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy, but here's my bio, so call me maybe! Mabel here, and I am so excited to tell you about myself. For starters, I am around 5-years-young, and am a 50-pound meatball of love disguised in the body of a pitbull. I was found as a stray, on a cold day in early January, sitting at an intersection of a rural county road. A nice person stopped and opened their car door, and I jumped RIGHT IN. It seems likely my previous owners dropped me off there, and they never came back for me.
I have spent a few months now waiting for a new family to adopt me, and am really hoping that they find me soon. I love to play and run, I get along with other dogs, I adore the kids in my foster home, and I'm crate and potty trained. I sit pretty for treats, get excited to go on walks, and am just the best girl. Though there is a bearded dragon in my foster home that roams the house just fine with me, cats are a definite no for me in my forever home. Kids and other dogs are a YES YES YES. I'm currently going through a basic obedience course, but I already know sit, stay, and wait. My foster mom agrees that I am darn near perfect and would make the best addition to any family. If your family has a meatball sized hole in it that needs filled, I am definitely the girl meet.

All dogs available for adoption are in foster homes. Please do not visit the location as it is a privately run boarding, training, and grooming facility. Meet and greets are scheduled by appointment only for approved adopters.

Additional adoption info

Due to recent events, we use discretion when adopting to a home with children under the age of 5 and to an adult under 23. This does not mean you are automatically disqualified, but we may require additional information.

The adoption fee for all animals listed depends on the breed/species, age, vet care, cost to pull from the kill shelter, worming medicine, flea medicine, vaccinations, micro chip, etc. The adoption fee BARELY covers all of the previous mentioned expenses. Please do not ask for us to lower the fee.

All adopters must fill out an application. Please note: Once you submit an adoption application, it could possibly take up to 10 days to process. Thank you for your patience. Please email us for an adoption application at rescue@mbrohio.com or submit on our website http://www.mbrohio.com/adoption-application/

Go meet their pets

The dogs listed on this site are located at various foster homes throughout Ohio & some are located at a private boarding facility. Anyone wishing to visit one of our dogs or other animals must first complete an application and be an approved adopter before scheduling an appointment. Majority of scheduled appointments take place at a boarding facility in Grafton, Ohio

Please make a note that we do not transport our animals to you; you would need to come to Grafton Ohio to meet and possibly adopt.

More about this rescue

This site supports a small group of people who try to help as many animals that we can that have been displaced. All of the animals are checked by a vet, altered and updated on all vaccinations prior to going to a home.

We are all volunteers who do the best that we can with the limited funds and resources available to us. We give the potential adopter as much information as we can, including copies of all vet records but we normally do not know the history of the animals, as they are strays at the pound or taken by a humane officer from poor living conditions. Very rarely do we have owner releases. Most dogs in our program were minutes away from being put to sleep so the pound could make space for more strays.
