Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sierra von Sehnde is a gorgeous, 3-year-old, long-haired German Shepherd. She’s full of fluff with a lovely coat you can’t wait to pet. A medium-energy level girl, she begins her walks calmly and shows you her good leash manners. Sierra likes to stay close to her person as they explore the big, wide world together. She meets other dogs well and walks nicely in a pack. In her playgroups, Sierra is once again calm and comfortable. She explores the grounds as she mingles and greets other dogs in a lady-like fashion. She’s a gentle soul and is happily sharing her run with a doggie friend.

Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
