Moose is a 4 year old, 53lb, high energy and active Golden boy looking for an active home with no small kids and no other dogs. Moose has some resource guarding tendencies and his family that had to make the hard decision to rehome him say they had worries that when their baby grew up, Moose would not "share" very kindly They also say:
"He is high energy, loves walking, swimming, and playing with tennis balls. He loves people and cuddling up on the couch. He loves to greet everyone by retrieving something for them. Sometimes he will ever carry his toys on walks. He is not left home alone out of his crate or to roam unsurprised as this could lead to him eating (and injesting) something he shouldn’t. He does well being along in his crate. He has been to boarding many times and has done great. He had one incident and the boarding place has welcomed him back but they won’t give him the Jolly Ball anymore."
Moose is crate trained and knows a few commands such as walk (follow by your side while walking), sit, lay down, head down, spin, stay, place/break (place to stay in a spot, then break to release), roll over, show me your belly, achoo (fun trick learned during COVID), shake, high-five, beg, go to bed (his crate), ring your bell (he will ring the bell left by the door to show he wants to go outside), and out (drop it). He will do most of these when commanded but he is very food motivated so he is much more responsive to any commands when there is a treat involved. He is an adventurous guy and needs an adventurous family to help keep him busy and give him plenty of energy outlets.
We are still learning about Moose, so please check back later for more info, but if you would like to meet him, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org
