WADE NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name: Wade Best Guess for Breed: Flat-coated retriever/retriever mix

Best Guess for Age: 1 year old as of April 2024 SEX: Male

Approximate Weight: 45lbs as of April 2024

Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven’t seen Wade with cats or kids, but he can be tested!

Currently Living at: South Carolina shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get his freedom ride up here.

Wade is Looking For: A forever home - could it be with you? I enjoy long sniffy walks and cuddling up on the couch after a long day. Other dogs have told me how much fun they have at the dog park too - do you think we can go together? I can't wait to make doggy and human friends in my new home! I'd also love to go to obedience class with you so I can show you how good I am (and you can reward me with treats and belly rubs when we're done!) What do you think? Could I be the perfect addition to your family?

What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this once he has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with his foster.

The adoption process begins when you submit an adoption application either online or at an adoption event. The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers. That individual will come to your home to ensure that it is a safe environment, to confirm that everyone in the home is on board with adopting a dog, and to discuss any other questions you may have about dog adoption!
