My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you hear Golden Doodle and think easy dog,we're here to challenge those assumptions. Meet 20-month old Hank. Hank has issues, but hey, dont we all? Well start with those issues and, after reading all that, youre still reading, boy, have we got a great dog for you! Before you read these, though, please know that Hank is super sweet, cuddly, a great playmate for playful housemates, and did we mention super sweet?? For the family that's willing to look past a few things, he'll be a loving, loyal, cuddly goofball who promises to always be happy to see you and accept you just as you are--just like he needs from you! #1. For starters, Hank has hip dysplasia, which, although it gives him a kind of wonky gait, doesnt seem to hurt him or slow him down. And luckily, there are medications and supplements that really help. #2. Hank has incontinence issues. He signed up for the Enhanced Front End package, but ended up with the Barely Functional back end kit. Were thinking it may be dueto the hipdysplasia and possibly some rear-end nerve damage. With a very strict schedule, his accidents in the house are pretty minimal now, but he does need to wear a diaper at night and needs to go out every few hours--he can't be home alone for a whole workday. The good news is that he loves everyone, so getting a dog walker should be no problem at all! #3. Hank really likes other dogs. He loves to play and has a goofy puppy spirit. But hes not crazy about the chaos that might come with living with lots of other needydogs. One or two dog siblings is enough, thank you very much. But playdates with friends are always a good time! #4. Hank would love to cuddle up to you on the couch and enjoy a good brushing, preferably while you're wearing black clothing, so his blonde fur will really stand out. Hank doesn't call it "shedding." He just thinks that the humans look cold without any fur, and he's got more than enough to share! (Seriously, though, this boy didn't get the "no-shedding" memo that many doodles get!) Still reading? Then you are a wonderful person and just might be worthy of this wonderful dog. Hank is 80 pounds of sweetness, just looking for a soft place to land and someone to love. He loves his toys, chews, and car rides. He walks like a dream on a leash (after the excited first few minutes). He loves cuddles and scratches. You like to hike? So does Hank! You like to settle down on the couch for cuddles? So does Hank! You like to play ball? So does Hank! You like to play chess? So does... well, Hank will make your chess partner feel welcome, he'll cheer you both on, and he'd love to share your snacks! We dont know much about his background, but were pretty sure it wasnt great. However, Hank is thriving in his foster home and hisissues are improving. With the right family thats ready to show him patience, consistency and love, Hank will always be perfect in his family's eyes! We ARE considering out-of-area applications for this special boy, but you will need to travel to southern NJ to meet him and complete an adoption. If you are interested in adopting a dog, please fill out our application. Meetings will not be scheduled without an application. Some things to think about before you adopt

Most of our volunteers are also adopters of Rogers’ Rescues dogs. So we know the anxiety when “waiting to hear.” Although Rogers’ Rescues is 100% staffed by volunteers, we do our best to communicate with you frequently and keep you updated on the status of your application. Here are some tips.
