My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Animal Profile: Sprout is a 3 month-old male Shepherd/Husky mix (best guess) who joined us along with his 2 sisters from Texas on 4/15. They were in a foster home in Texas before catching their freedom ride to the PNW. We will add more information as we get it.

Foster Update: We are so lucky to have Sprout in our home! He’s a tiny little guy, ready to take on the world. Sprout has started potty training and is doing well. He potties when he’s outside and has clear signs when he is about to have an accident inside that make correcting him easier. He responds well to ‘no’ and other ‘stop that’ sounds to redirect him when he’s started playing with less then ideal items in the house. He is teething and very mouthy on hands and will need help to continue to learn alternative chewing options. He’s had no problem integrating in the house with 2 dogs and a cat. He is currently sleeping through the night in his crate and is quiet after an initial ‘shush’. We’re very proud of him and think that’s he’s on track for his age. Besides his puppy skills, this boy is chock full of little tail wags and ear kisses — get ready to be viciously attacked with pure love. He loves to follow you around the house and attempts big jumps onto the couch ( with a little help). He spends time quietly hanging out in his playpen during the evening and has started timidly wrestling with his big foster sister. We have the absolutely biased opinion that he is just the best puppy around — we hope you will too.

Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.
