My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Your BFF right here!

Hi guys! My name is Buddy and it perfectly describes me! I am a 7 year old, 24 lb, neutered male Terrier mix. I came to TAP when my former owners relinquished me and since then I have been living at my foster home, soaking in the love. I am a good boy and fully bathroom and leash trained. I just had a teeny tiny issue where I was detected with heartworm. After extensive treatment and strict rest, I have been successfully cured!

If you are looking for a bud-bud to cuddle, look no further! On the couch, in the bed, on the pool lounger, at the cafe, I will be there for you. I also love going for walks and can make a nice trail companion. I am A-grade loyal and will never make you feel alone. My super adaptability helps me be down for anything. I am great with dogs, kids, cats, you name it! Do remind the kiddos to be respectful and we'll be best friends.

My ideal home would be one with tons of cuddles and even more love for me. A mellow home would be right up my alley. Having other doggie friends will keep my playful and jolly. If you think we can be straight up besties, you gotta take Buddy home! My adoption fee is $150 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane.
Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational.
All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times.
All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise.
Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000.
Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc.

More about this rescue

Overview
The Animal Pad is a nonprofit, all-breed dog rescue devoted to saving the lives of dogs facing euthanasia at high kill animal shelters and off the streets of Mexico. We rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home locally.

We are dedicated to animal advocacy, and educating dog owners on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. We are a foster based rescue, and rely heavily on the kindness and generosity of the amazing people who make donations toward the rescue and care of the dogs we save.

We are always looking for adopters, fosters, donations, volunteers, etc.. Please let us know if you would like to get involved by contacting us at one of the email addresses found below.
