Meet Miss Katarina (Katya for short). Katerina is a 2-year-old, 6-pound female cat from the TOH shelter.
She came to us from a shelter in Long Island with a hard past. She was adopted to a temporary forever home and resurrendered with a bad infected eye and a distrust for people. We are unsure what happened but we’re more than happy to take her back and nurture her back to a healthy life. After returning to the shelter and coming back into foster care she is thriving and doing significantly better.
In addition to her lone eye, she does have several missing teeth which make her tongue her favorite accessory. She will normally always have it on display and it is absolutely hilarious.
She is sweet and shy but loves a good belly rub. She is flirty and docile and will always roll over to let you know she is ready for a good cuddle. She is very shy to start and isn’t too much of a lap cat, especially when you first meet her, but she is definitely curious and friendly. She will lay next to you or behind you on the back of the couch and watch TV with you. She also loves a good nap.
If she bats at you or kicks your hands away, don’t worry! She is just setting a boundary with you or is being playful. She loves wand and catnip toys and will keep herself entertained. When petting her around the face, be sure she can see your hand first, she gets a little spooked when you pet her in her blind spot.
Katya would do well in a home solo or with another adult or senior cat. She gets along with other animals but prefers a more laid back companion as hyper friends tend to annoy her.
Vaccinated for FVRCP and rabies, Neutered, FeLV / FIV negative, and microchipped.
To apply for Katerina, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the animal is on our website, they are still available.
Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable cat, or final size of any of our adoptable kittens. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the cat into our rescue.
