Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Beretta came to Coming Back Home Rescue on Easter Day after being found left for death in Alabama. She was shot by a .22(gun) and stranded. Thankfully, someone managed to get her to a shelter, but the situation was not much better. Due to the shelter being understaffed with only two members and having over 200 dogs, Beretta was constantly sitting in a cage with feces and urine. We could not look away at the situation and immediately arranged transport. By the time she got to us, she was fighting two infections on both entry and exit wounds.
Now, she has recovered and looking for her forever home! Please don't mind a patch of missing hair as she was shaved during treatment - but we promise, she has a BEAUTIFUL coat which is very soft. Solid with Merle.
Beretta has been a great house guest and gets along with just about everyone. However, she is much slower to approach men unless there is another dog present. We believe this all stemmed from her past. She is mostly house trained but may use the restroom in the home if not taken out in a timely manner. Catahoula Leopard Dogs are HIGH-ENERGY dogs and designed for work. Beretta is no exception but makes a great family pet for an active family. It is highly recommended to do research on the breed before filling out an application.

Additional adoption info
We always start off with the application reviewing them at a first come, first serve basis. We look for the best possible compatibility and may ask questions to help to determine if you would be a great possible match. Next, we schedule something known as a "Happy Visit" where you can meet your potential new family member. We usually do this at your property which also covers the brief home visit. However, we also have adoption events or can meet in neutral locations for some animals. Afterwards, you sign an adoption contract and pay for their adoption fee.
We check in on a 3-3-3 basis to make sure everything is going well between your new pet while providing resources to help make transitioning smoother.
