My name is Koa!

Handsome Koa is a German Shepherd mix who has made substantial progress toward overcoming earlier trauma in his life, and needs a patient owner who can help him feel safe and loved. He came to us in a mass rescue of German Shepherd dogs from a Georgia cruelty/hoarding case. Terrified when he arrived, he benefited greatly from a foster family who helped him fight his fears. Our staff describes his personality now as shy and reserved, and we think he'd do better in a quiet home environment away from the unavoidable stress of a shelter. They say he's "super-housetrained" and does well on his walks; if you have a dog, please bring them over for a meet-and-greet. He's about 7 years old, with a cream-colored coat. He's also neutered, microchipped and up to date on his shots.
