Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Coco, a young, sweet soul with a heart as big as her personality. She's brimming with love and warmth, eager to share her affection with those who approach her. Coco is gentle and cuddly, a comforting companion who would make the perfect addition to any home.
She's a little shy at first, but give her a moment, and she'll soon be nuzzling into your side, her trust in you evident. Coco is heartworm positive, but don't let that deter you. This brindle baby is strong and resilient, ready to face any challenge with a wagging tail.
Adopting Coco means not only giving her a loving home, but also gaining a loyal friend who will shower you with unconditional love. Coco deserves a family who will appreciate her gentle spirit and reciprocate her unwavering affection. Open your heart to Coco, and she will fill it with love.
Coco is also eligible for foster care, sign up to foster here! https://forms.gle/oknYBjKJVYuQyb3D7

More about this shelter
The South Suburban Humane Society is a 501(c )(3) organization that was started in 1970, serving the animal welfare needs of the entire south suburbs of Chicago. In the beginning, we handled all rescues, adoptions and provided foster care out of private homes. Since November 1973, our organization has been operating a 10,000 square foot open-door animal shelter in Chicago Heights, Illinois.
For over fifty years, our organization has helped tens of thousands of animals. We offer extensive outreach programs including humane education, and community outreach events. We also operate a resale shop located in Steger, Illinois that promotes our organization, our animals and provide much needed income to support our humane work.
The Mission of the South Suburban Humane Society is to protect and promote the well being of pets and their people in our community and beyond.
