Guinea pigs can live over five years, and they require a large cage with a hiding shelter, hay, a water bottle and food bowl, proper bedding, and toys. Guinea pigs are social little animals that need the company of another guinea pig of the same sex, so this is something to keep in mind. They love interaction from you, and many enjoy being held and cuddled. Guinea pigs need vitamin C supplementation alongside their diet of guinea pig pellets, hay, treats, veggies, and fruits.

Submit Application

All interested adopters need to complete a pre-adoption form prior to being scheduled to meet the animals.

2.
Approve Application

We will review your application and confirm home ownership/rental and the approval to own a pet.

3.
Meet the Pet

We will schedule you a time to come in and meet with the animals. You will have a staff member assigned to your meeting for 1 on 1 attention

COVID-19 Closure Information

The BCHS is open by appointment only!
Phones are answered and appointments are scheduled Tuesdays 10 AM to 4 PM, and Thursdays through Sunday 10 AM- 4 PM.

The Shelter is closed on Mondays and Wednesdays.
