My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rosie is a 6-8 month old female beagle looking for a family. As a young puppy, she was thrown off a bridge into a creek, presumably in effort to “dispose” of her. Luckily she made it to the bank and was found by some folks that helped her. She’s been living with a family that did really love her and take care of her but have concluded they aren’t in the right situation to keep her.
Rosie is a sweet girl that may take a while to warm up and relax in new surroundings. But once she’s comfortable, she’s friendly and loving. She did well with children in her previous home but I think she would prefer a quieter home with less rowdiness. She’s doing fine with the other dogs in foster, but again, prefers a calm and quiet environment, so preferably no excitable puppies for her. She ignores the cats that she has met.
She is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, and up to date on vaccines. Her adoption fee is $300.

More about this rescue

Working Hounds in the House started as an organization to help retired and decommissioned working hounds find a soft landing after a career in the field. Since starting, we rarely say no to an animal in need if we have the means to safely care for it, so we take many cat and kittens and and recently even rescued a pony!
