My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet the handsome bunny, Ralph! He has been in shelter care for over a year!

He has made his way from West Vancouver to the center in Chilliwack, hoping to find his furever home!

He has been in a loving foster home where he greeted them as soon as they got home and settled in on the couch to watch TV.

Ralph is a very curious guy and loves to play detective, making him the best perfect room mate! He is a very clean guy and is awesome at using his litter box. He loves having space to free roam, where he can have zoomies and binkies throughout the day. Ralph does not like to be picked up and would rather have his cuddles and pets sitting on the couch or on the floor. He is obsessed with his carrot shaped treats, and always tries to get more!

Go meet their pets

The Chilliwack Branch is an Animal Protection Centre for pets who have been rescued from abusive or neglectful homes. The Centre is open to the public by appointment only due to the security issues associated with housing animals awaiting the outcome of legal proceedings. We will accept surrendered animals by appointment only, and we are open for adoptions on special occasions.

More about this shelter

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
