My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Diamond was born around February 21, 2017 and weighs about 15 pounds.  Joyful was contacted by the brother of a man who had gone into Hospice and left behind 3 dogs and a cat.  The man's brother had owned the animals and loved them very much but he was ill and unable to take care of himself let alone his pets.
Diamond only has one eye and we were not told why or how she lost the other one.  When she came in, she was infested with fleas, her toenails curled into her paws and had skin infections. Diamond is feeling much better now and is a very sweet girl. She loves people, other dogs and is fine with kitties.  Diamond rides well in the car and walks nicely on a leash.  She is an easy to care for girl, house trained, well behaved & loving. Diamond does have a small growth or maybe scar tissue on her lower lip.  It seems to have been there a long time and we have to wonder if it might be tissue caused by whatever trauma caused her eye to be removed.  We did contact several veterinarians in the general location of where she lived, but none had the owners name or Diamond's name on file.  We feel that this has caused her no issues in the past and feel that for the foreseeable future and perhaps her lifetime it will not become a problem.  If, down the road, she needs a dental or is anesthetized for another reason the vet might want to think about removal.  This sweet girl has had a rough couple of years and cannot wait for her to live the good life once again.
The Adoption Fee for this dog is $475.00
Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.

Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility.

YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES

We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.
