My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Becky came to the shelter with two other dogs. She has participated in shelter playgroups but right now she is pretty shut down with other dogs
while in foster :Becky is smart, emotional, and eager to please. She knows `sit` and is learning stay, laydown, off, and leave it. After learning the territory she walks loosely on a leash, but pulls due to excitement when sniffing a new path. She is potty trained, as long as she is given opportunities to go outside often when she first gets into the home. She sticks like glue around the house, and loves cuddling and long gazes into your eyes. She is comfortable having mouth, ears, and paws handled, and sits calmly for brushing. Becky is a little too interested in cats, but maybe would do alright with a slow introduction and a ton of correction. Becky is quite dog/barrier reactive but does take correction and has shown zero sign of redirection risk. I was able to get her to settle well enough to introduce my dog to her, but my dog had no interest. She MUST be physically restrained in a vehicle until properly trained or she will be in your lap instantly. She is not possessive of toys, treats, or food with humans, untested with animals. Becky loves hard, leaving her with extreme separation anxiety. The moment you are out of sight she panics and will do anything she can to get to you. This includes when you walk out the front door. Or go to the bathroom. Or are out of sight for even a moment. A standard metal wire style crate will not hold this dog. She absolutely 100% requires a heavy-duty crate. She needs to be trained extensively for an undestructible style crate, and rewarded for not panicking when you disappear for even a moment. She will require patience, infinite patience, but she is absolutely worth it. She is one of the best dogs I`ve ever met, and my entire family deeply regrets that we don`t have the time and resources to help her with the problems that she has. Bringing her back to the shelter it was one of the most heartbreaking things we have been through. We believe in this dog, and we know she just needs the right home. She would do best in a home with somebody who can give her a lot of physical exercise, and who is not leaving her alone for super long periods of time. She should not be left alone in the backyard, she will find a way to escape to find you. The shelter environment is about the worst possible thing for her, she is going downhill pretty quickly. In just the 4 days that we had her, she
