Rosalino, Lino for short, is a big dog with a big personality! In his last home he lived with a young child and 2 other dogs, a chihuahua and a pitbull. He is very friendly, a loose leash walker, and gentle treat taker. His previous family noted that he is very playful and likes to be chased. His favorite activity is wrestling. Lino lived outside with his previous family, so may need some work on his inside manners, but if you are looking for a friendly, fun loving guy, he may just be for you!
*Rosalino is currently not living at the shelter but still available for adoption so please email asoanimaladoption@austintexas.gov for next steps, if you are interested in meeting him!*

Our shelter has more than 500 available cats and dogs every day! For pets at the shelter: Adoptions must be completed in-person at the shelter. AAC is open for adoption walk-ins every day from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. A shelter pet’s availability can change at any time, so we recommend choosing a few favorites. For pets in foster: Go to www.AustinAnimalCenter.org to find the pet's profile and click that pet's pink “Adopt Me” button. This will prompt you to complete an adoption questionnaire. Submitting an application does not hold the animal for you.
We have dozens of animals that won't be listed online yet because they're still in their stray hold period, but can be pre-adopted at the shelter in case their owner doesn't come for them.
Adoption Fees:
$80 cats & kittens up to 6 years old
$80 dogs 6 months to 6 years, 30 lbs and up
$100 dogs under 30 lbs and/or under 6 months
$30 small animals
No fee for senior pets 7 years and older
