My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Snowy White was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team.

Why this pet is the one for you:
This beautiful bearded dragon is looking for a family to call their own. Minaj came to us with metabolic bone disease due to lack of sufficient care in the past. We have seen them make leaps and bounds in our care, and they will require your continued medical support to help them thrive. Did you notice their cute little tongue hanging out? That is because Minaj has the most charming underbite. While they are solitary creatures, bearded dragons are social reptiles that thrive from daily handling of their owners. Bearded dragons require a diet of plants, fruits, veggies and various bug protein sources such as crickets, roaches, mealworms, etc. Bearded dragons can live up to 20+ with exceptional care. This is a big commitment for any adopter looking to have a bearded dragon! They can grow as much as 2 feet long and will need a minimum of a 40 gallon long tank (more is better though!). They also require a variety of light bulbs such as a UVB, daylight and night basking bulbs. We suggest doing lots of research before bringing a tiny dinosaur as cool as Minaj into your home. If you're interested in learning more about this beautiful reptile, come into our San Diego campus today!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
